The HCO in Epirus – Arta

Seminar for teachers on “Copyright in Our Lives”

With strong engagement and participation from educators, the first in a series of three events on “Copyright in Our Lives” took place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in Epirus. The event was organized by the Directorate of Primary Education of Arta, in collaboration with the HCO, the E.VI.E., and the Holy Metropolis of Arta.

The seminar was hosted at the Spiritual Center of the Holy Metropolis of Arta “Ag. Ioannis the Theologian.”

The event opened Ms. Aglaia Ntoka, Education Counselor of the Directorate of Primary Education of Ioannina; Dr. Kleopatra N. Vassiliou, Director of the Directorate of Primary Education of Arta; Mr. Dimitrios Evangelou, Deputy Mayor for Citizen Service Centers and Planning; Ms. Angeliki Tsola, Deputy Mayor for Daily Life and Civil Protection; and Ms. Eleftheria Fakitsa, Vice President of the Arta Bar Association and the representative of His Eminence, the Metropolitan of Arta.

The HCO presenters, Ms. Maria G. Sinanidou, Lawyer and Scientific Associate of HCO, and Ms. Eva Kokkinou, Head of the Information Department, discussed key issues related to copyright and the responsible use of digital content. They also presented HCO’s initiatives for raising awareness within the educational community, highlighting the copyrightschool platform, which offers educational materials and interactive tools for teachers and pupils.

The event attracted significant interest, bringing together teachers, education officials, and representatives of local institutions, and fostered constructive dialogue on the importance of respect for copyright in the educational and social context.

Special thanks are extended to Ms. Aglaia Ntoka, Education Counselor of the Directorate of Primary Education of Ioannina, and Dr. Kleopatra N. Vassiliou, Director of the Directorate of Primary Education of Arta, for their contribution to the organization of the event.

A total of 50 educators attended the seminar.
