OPI has successfully completed the implementation of the European program “Educating the youth and secondary school teachers of Greece and Cyprus on Intellectual Property”. The program ran from October 2019 to December 2020. The program was selected for funding by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), following the submission of a relevant proposal by OPI, it was transnational (Greece and Cyprus) and OPI participated as a key partner in collaboration with the Cypriot media group SIGMA LIVE LTD . The actions implemented from October 2019 to December 2020 are the following:
• Organization of 9 seminars for teachers, in collaboration with the local Education Directorates in Greece in Volos, Alimos, Patras, Katerini, Thessaloniki (3), Chaidari and 4 seminars in Cyprus in Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia.
• Organization of 7 webinars in collaboration with PEKES and other Education Directorates of the country.
• A total of 990 teachers participated in the above seminars (live and webinars). Despite the implementation of restrictive measures due to Covid-19, OPI continued to conduct webinars with the aim of further supporting the educational community and answering questions that arose regarding distance education.
- Implementation of a youth and teacher awareness campaign on Social Media (Facebook, Instagram).

The campaign generated a total of over 8,000,000 post impressions as well as 2,800 followers on copyrightschool’s Facebook and Instagram pages. - Carrying out 11 interviews on the subject of intellectual property in a Cyprus radio station
- Posting of 32 articles on intellectual property in informational portals of Cyprus
- Creation and playback of radio spots on Cyprus radio stations
- Posting banners on Cypriot informational portals aimed at young people
- Creation of printed information material which was distributed to secondary school teachers who attended the seminars
- Creation of promotional material used in the online campaigns, such as videos with popular artists, logos, banners, posts, etc.
The material created in the context of the program as well as the actions carried out are published on the OPI website copyrightschool.gr where there is now a special section exclusively for secondary school students.
