Event for the promotion of the educational program in Tripoli

On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, the Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) and the Directorate of Primary Education of Arkadia organized a training seminar for primary education teachers in the 8th Primary School of Tripoli for the promotion of the educational program “Intellectual Property and Related Rights”. Representatives of the HCO were welcomed by Mrs. Angeliki Zacharopoulou, Head of the Directorate of Primary Education of Arkadia.

The aim of the seminar was to inform teachers of Preveza about the educational programme «Copyright and Related Rights» that was launched by the HCO as well as the importance of the authors’ work (writers, visual artists, photographers, music composers, software developers etc) and related rights rightholders (singers, musicians, actors, publishers, film and records producers etc.). The seminar was attended by approximately 20 school teachers.

The short animated film “Orpheus creating…”, was presented in the seminar. The director and producer of the film, Mr. Panagiotis Rappas, participated in the event. He had the chance to share with the audience his personal experiences as a creator and to discuss with teachers about the value of intellectual property. Mr. Rappas supported that teachers can have a huge impact regarding the dissemination of the message of copyright protection to children.

All attendees were handed a folder containing informative material, including a handbook about copyright for primary school pupils, another one for teachers, a handbook with the basics of copyright, a comic book, stickers with the logo of the programme and more.
